Last Seen Wearing
24 minutes black and white 1977

The Woman from Malibu's daughter disappears, and later recalls a mysterious close encounter of the third kind in the desert.

Photographed in the laconic, deadpan style that marks all of the Women in Malibu series, this tape also recounts a mysterious disappearance (perhaps death) of the woman from Malibu’s daughter. In the first tape her husband has a mountain climbing accident. Now, after a hurried and improvised lunch (grated Velvetta on asparagus spears), her daughter, wearing a Farrah Fawcett wig, and a leisure suit with Las Vegas, Reno, Los Angeles, Denver and Phoenix embroidered on silver thread in the back of the jacket, hurries off to a fitting at the Tickled Pink boutique. She is never seen again.

In the closing monologue, the woman from Malibu recounts a dreamy roadside encounter with Mr. Mold who draws her blood out with a needle. She blacks out and is able to remember the events only later, only now, while the tape is rolling.
